Doreen Nyanjura has been appointed deputy Lord Mayor

Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has sacked his deputy Sarah Kanyike and replaced her with Doreen Nyanjura.

Lukwago had given Kanyike a three day ultimatum that till Thursday 18 June 2020, to declare her stand on whether she was accepting the position of Director Gender, community service and production at Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) a position she has been nominated to by President Yoweri Museveni.

But Kanyike had not declared her stand by this morning prompting, Lukwago to sack her through a press conference announcement.

Nyajura is the Makerere University female councilor.

The KCCA Act, stipulates that the Lord Mayor appoints his deputy and the council simply approves his choice.
