The Centre for Investigative Journalism in Uganda is a not for profit Investigative Journalism organization setup in 2019 to train a new generation of Ugandan journalists in the areas of investigative, indepth and long form.
CIJU was established by a group of independent Ugandan journalists as a response to the worrying decline of investigative reporting in both print and electronic media.
CIJU takes a more radical approach whens it comes to story telling than other conventional media.
Our resolve is in publishing stories that needs to be told without fear or favour and being innovative in developing investigative tools and ways of doing investigative Journalism and fact checking.
Our Objectives
To promote investigative Journalism through skills development and thereby contributing to socio-economic, political and economic accountability in Uganda.
To engage and empower the public through investigative Journalism and ground breaking story telling that can call to action, improve lives and protect our nascent democracy
To expose wrongdoing, dysfunctional system, inequality and injustice and strive to hold accountable those responsible through compelling story telling

Core values
In persuance of our work we shall uphold international accepted journalism standards and ethics.
We shall not be biased in our reporting of stories. We shall reflect and publish stories that reflect all sides of a story without biases.
We shall ensure that our organization does not diseminate propaganda or be polarized in it’s reporting on political matters.
We shall give all people, subjects and authorities that our stories cast in a bad light, affecting or affected by our stories ample time and space to give their side of the story before we publish.
We will ensure zero corruption by any of our members.
Finally we shall guarantee our sources anonymity and confidentiality.
